Touch up
Over time Varnish will “Yellow” and or crack, and if desired, this Varnish can be carefully removed, revealing the original colors. A new coat of varnish is then applied to protect the work.

Tears
Over time, typically one hundred years or more, organic canvas will begin to break down and weaken and can puncture or tear with the slightest pressure. Proper Conservative methods are used to repair tears. The repair will usually consist of a new canvas patch applied with organic and reversable materials. The painting is then touched up with like materials.
